ChoiceView Case Study: Diabetic Health Coaching

Use Case: Follow Doctor's Orders

Many patients don't hear, remember or understand medical information well, especially when stressed, so they don't follow the doctor's orders. They don't take their medications as prescribed or do critical regimens such as surgical wound care or exercises after a heart attack. As a result, their health doesn't improve or worsens, sending them back to the doctor, to an ER, or worse.

Since healthcare providers are held accountable for patient outcomes, what can practitioners do to help patients follow doctor's orders? Follow-up tele-coaching, by phone or Internet, is a practical way to communicate on an ongoing basis. Healthcare providers can use ChoiceView 'Voice with Visuals' on calls with patients to both show and discuss the diagnosis, outcomes of procedures, results of tests, medications, and prescribed regimens.
